The Poore Family Foundation is hosting the Poore
Farm Music, Arts and Homesteading Festival 2015, a daylong musical and
educational event, on Saturday, August 22nd and 23rd. Gates open at 11:00 am, the 23rd
will be open mic / jam session.
The Poore Fest will show case a number of
musicians across a variety of genres ranging from traditional folk, to the
Blues, to Bluegrass, to classic Rock and Roll, even Fire dancers for after
dark, and MORE! A full schedule of performers and
activities will be posted the day of the event.

The Poore Family Music, Arts and Homesteading Festival 2015, will take
place on the grounds of the 100 acre Poore Family Homestead and Museum campus,
located on NH Route 145, in Stewartstown, NH, Saturday August 22nd and into
Sunday August 23rd. Sunday afternoon will be an open jam session for any
musician who would like to join in.
The Festival will be held at the Poore Farm’s out-door stage and
amphitheater. Parking will be in the south field.
The Stage and amphitheater venue were developed in 2004, with funding,
in part, from the NH State Council on the Arts, with the purpose of expanding
the Museum’s capability to host artistic and cultural events in the North
Country.
The Museum has been hosting live events and demonstrations since 1986.
The mission of the Poore Family Foundation is to conserve, continue and
propagate the traditional spirit, values and philosophy of living of the
settlers who lived on the headwaters of the Connecticut River Valley.
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance has recognized the Poore Family
Farm as one of the “Seven Sites to Save”, and is listed as an Endangered
Historic Property in 2014.
Proceeds from Poore Fest 2015 will directly support the Poore Family
Homestead Historic Farm Museum, their programs and future events. The
Foundation, Kenneth Poore has created, is to serve as a historical and
educational site, to a way of life that existed prior-to rural electrification.
There is an increasing interest and need for locally grown organic
produce, homesteading, permaculture and reconnecting with the land within the
general and especially the younger population. The Poore Farm is the perfect venue to be an example and
resource of education and connecting our community. This year we will be
further engaging the local community, by bringing in educators, homesteaders,
Bee keepers, horticulturalist, herbalists and farmers from the surrounding area
for educational purposes.

The Poore Family Homestead Historic Farm Museum
will also be open through out the day, allowing visitors the chance to view
over 180 year’s worth of Poore family history between performances.
Poore Fest 2015 will be presented at the Poore Homestead’s amphitheater and stage
venue, just off NH Route 145 in Stewartstown, NH. Seven (7) Miles north of Colebrook. Watch for signs.
Admission: $20 per adult, accompanied children under 12 are FREE.
All proceeds will benefit the Poore Farm
Museum.
